Refund & Cancellation Policy
Effective date: May 15, 2026
This Refund & Cancellation Policy explains how the Vancouver Paid Parking Premium subscription works, how to cancel, and when you may be entitled to a refund. It supplements our Terms of Service.
1. Subscription summary
- Price: CAD $4.00 per month, plus any applicable taxes.
- Billing: Charged in advance, monthly, on the same calendar day you subscribed.
- Renewal: Automatic until you cancel.
- Free trial: No free trial — you are charged on the day you subscribe.
- Payment processor: Stripe.
2. How to cancel
You can cancel your Premium subscription at any time, in either of these ways:
- From the app: sign in, open the account menu, and click "Manage subscription". This opens Stripe's secure Customer Portal where you can cancel with one click.
- Via our contact form: if you can't access the portal, submit a request through our contact form using the email address on your account and ask us to cancel. We will confirm in writing.
3. Refunds
Because Premium is a low-cost month-to-month service that you can cancel at any time, monthly subscription fees are generally non-refundable. We will, however, issue a refund in the following situations:
- Duplicate charges — if you were charged twice for the same billing period due to our error or a payment-processing error, we will refund the duplicate charge in full.
- Charge after cancellation — if your card was charged after you cancelled but before the renewal date, we will refund the erroneous charge in full.
- Unauthorised charge — if a charge was made to your card without your authorisation, contact us immediately and we will work with you and Stripe to refund it.
- Service unavailable — if Premium-only features were unavailable for a substantial portion of a billing period due to our fault, we will, at our option, extend your subscription or refund a pro-rated portion of that period's fee.
- Statutory rights — nothing in this policy limits any non-waivable refund or cancellation rights you have under the consumer-protection laws of your jurisdiction.
4. How refunds are paid
Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method through Stripe. Refunds typically appear within 5–10 business days, though the exact timing depends on your bank or card issuer. We do not issue cash, cheque, or store-credit refunds.
5. Failed payments
If a renewal payment fails (for example, expired card or insufficient funds), Stripe will retry the payment over the following days. If payment is still not received, Premium access is suspended and your account returns to the free tier. You can restore Premium at any time by updating your payment method and resubscribing.
6. Price changes
If we change the price of Premium, we will email you at least 30 days before the new price applies to your next renewal. If you do not want to accept the new price, simply cancel before the renewal date. Continued subscription after the notice period means you accept the new price.
7. Account deletion
If you want to delete your account entirely (not just cancel Premium), submit a request through our contact form using your account's email address. We will remove your profile and saved data per our Privacy Policy. Note that Stripe is required to retain billing records for tax and accounting purposes.
